Paramount+ Year of The Dragon 2024

To ring in the new Lunar New Year and it being the Year of the Dragon, the team at Paramount Plus asked me to create a piece of art to share across their social platforms of Instagram, Facebook and Youtube.
I wanted the illustration to reflect the colourful nature of the new year celebrations with family and friends gathering for food, music, noisy fire crackers and folk dance.
The illustrations had work across different dimensions to their according platforms so the artwork was created in a modular way so elements could be shifted, added and removed.
The Initial Sketches
The first iteration has a very two dimensional style composition that allows the scene details to feel more like a snapshot of activity.
Version 2: This composition is a little more chaotic and fun, I wanted the illustration to reflect the noise and atmosphere of a new years celebration when outdoors.
